There are so many vibrant fruits in the summer that most of us fail to make the most of.
I especially love mango season; they’re included in lots of lovely Indian recipes and work well in sweet and savoury dishes. They’re full of golden goodness too; with antioxidants known to protect against cancer, lower cholesterol, clear skin and promote better eye health – all the more reason to indulge!
Try our sunshine smoothie, quick and a delicious way to incorporate turmeric into your daily diet.
- Half a mango
- A whole satsuma or orange
- Squeeze of lime
- contents of two Amala Pure Health turmeric capsules
- top up with a nut milk such as almond milk or coconut milk
Whizz all the ingredients in a blender and enjoy!
In Ayurveda fruit should ideally be eaten on its own and rarely with dairy products. In particular sour fruits should never be eaten with milk or yoghurt and the reason for this is that this combination severely dampens the digestive fire which can increase toxins and the build-up of mucus. Hence the reason why we suggest using a nut milk instead of dairy in our recipe.
